Children's Ministry

 

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

To grow our children in Christ in our actions, teachings and attitude. 

 

Based on our current age group, to provide a pre-school program during the Adult Sunday School hour which will open the door to learning and knowing Christ on a personal and age-appropriate level. Our lessons will be simple, but Biblically based.   There will be nursery coverage at this time as well. We encourage you to have your pre-school child join you for the beginning music at worship time each week. It is a great way to ease into First Sunday Worships.

 

The first Sunday of the month will be dedicated to Family Worship. There will be no Sunday School Program or Nursery service during Worship. There will be coverage in the Nursery during Adult Sunday School. We encourage our families with young children to begin the journey of watching and understanding a family gathering at our worship service. We will provide a “children’s introduction” to the message at the service. Please visit the “Worship Children’s Table” prior to church to collect age-appropriate bulletins and coloring pages and puzzles for ages 3-11. Should your child ever need a break from the worship service, the nursery room is always available to you to take a break.

 

Our church is simply reinforcement to your teachings. Seeing you serve in the nursery provides the bridge that connects personal teaching and worship to community teaching and worship. We encourage you to volunteer in the nursery and to show your children what community worship is all about. There are always at least two volunteers in the nursery one over 18 and usually one under 18. All over 18 volunteers must complete and pass a background check.   This process is necessary to protect your child as well as our staff. We are a “transparent” ministry and have placed your child in a room with glass doors so that you may visit at any time. 

 

Please complete an information card on your child so that we may have a record of allergies and other medical information. Sign your child into the nursery and get a numerical card to connect you to them. Please make the staff aware of any special circumstances that we should know. Place an informational sticker on the back of your child so that we have a quick reference. Please inform us of any diaper changing or potty training issues. We normally serve goldfish, Cheerios, and animal cookies at snack time. We only serve water to drink.
