WORSHIP & THE ARTS

“O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.” Psalm 34:3

At Gateway Community EPC, we desire to magnify the Lord, proclaiming His greatness to all who come. We do not view the use of music, dance, fine arts or drama at Gateway as a means to mere performance or entertainment, but rather see them as creative gifts that are used to enhance our worship of God.

Worship happens in times of silence as well in times of jubilant celebration. We worship God with our songs, our prayers, our giving and our lives lived out for His purposes. We worship God through confession and repentance. We worship Him when we respond to the hearing of His Word. We offer worship to Him in times of strength and in times of weakness, in times of joy and in times of sorrow.

We worship a God who is sovereign and holy, the God of all wisdom and power. We worship a God who is the Creator and Lord. Yet we worship a God who is full of mercy and compassion, who is our rock and refuge, who is a loving and faithful Father.
